The workers of Hostess have been on strike and the company gave the union until 5 pm on Thursday to return to work. workers refused to do, therefore to company respond. A statement was released this morning: “We deeply regret the necessity of today’s decision, but we do not have the financial resources to weather an extended nationwide strike,” Gregory F. Rayburn, Hostess’ chief executive, said in a statement. He added that the vast majority of its 18,500 employees would be laid off.
