Whitney Houston

The star studded gala in honor of th

e late Whitney Houston aired Friday night on CBS. The actual extravaganza took place and was filmed about month ago at the Nokia L.A. Live Theater in Los Angele. The hour long event highlighted some of the monumental accomplishments and performances throughout her exstrordinary music career of  including her infamous 1991 Super Bowl National Anthem and her astonishing Grammy Performance.

The event was an emotionally amazing classic tribute to say the least. Jennifer Hudson kicked off the evening performing a few Whitney classics :” How Will I Know” and “I W

appeared to be a tear jerk er for Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, We could just imagine Whitney singing that song to her with passion. Bobbi Kris and Auntie Pat Houston and some of the family and cast members of their new reality show on  “The Houstons, On Our Own” were present, Bobbi Kristina looked very nice.  Before Celine Dion sang “The Greatest Love of All.” she stated that “I

can’t sing it like you, Whitney,”, however she did a good job.”Actress Halle Berry got teary-eyed as she spoke of the inspiration Whitney brought to a generation of little girls  and Britney Spears shared an early career memory, LL Cool J and  Taraji P Henson were in attendance and participated in the program as well.

The evening ended with not a dry eye in the building when Yolanda and God Mother of Bobbi Kristina a life long friend CeCe Winans sang “Count On Me” a song earlier recorded by CeCe and Whitney. Again we will say the gala was amazing. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to the Houston’s and her entertainment family that has genuinely suffered from the lost of Whitney Houston.
