Although the public Inauguration ceremony and all of the celebrations began tomorrow, the Constitution states that the president must be sworn in on January 20 and the inauguration ceremony is usually delayed if January 20 falls on a Sunday. Therefore President Obama officially took the oath of office in the Blue Room of the White House a few minutes before noon on today. President Obama was sworn in using a Bible from his wife’s family, after being sworn in he told his daughter Sasha, “I did it.” Vice President Joe Biden was also sworn in for a second term at his home at just after 8 o’ clock this morning.
