According to a Philadelphia court clerk Bail Christina Regusters attorney W. Fred Harrison, Jr. asked the judge to reduce her bail Wednesday and the request was denied therefore it will remain at $4 million for abducting and raping a 5-year-old Cobbs Creek girl as the district attorney prepares to convene a grand jury in the case. Regusters remains in custody, reports say she had to be relocated because she had been assaulted in the initial prison being held. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey says further questioning of her has been placed on hold. “We were asked to wait for the Grand Jury process to take place before we continued interviewing her,” said Ramsey.
Regusters, 19, faces 15 charges in the case including rape, assault and kidnapping. Investigators allege back on January 14 Regusters abducted the girl from William C. Bryant Elementary School, took the girl to a nearby home where she was blindfolded and sexually assaulted, and later discovered by a passerby early the next morning in an Upper Darby playground. She was shivering and wearing only a T-shirt.
