Dwayne Wade is on a roll now we recently reported he and his sons would be featured in the Dove’s “Men+Care” campaign to show the important roles fathers play in healthy development. Now Wade is teaming up with James Patterson to help kids read. The Miami ‘Heat’ star and bestselling author recently visited Ponce de Leon Middle School in Coral Gables to encourage students to read more…
According BCK, “…Patterson, who has written several bestselling novels, has long been a supporter of anything that will increase the literacy rate among school-aged children telling the press, “It’s a massive problem. Dwyane and I have the same agenda: We want to get more kids reading. For me, this is about saving lives.”
With the same passion, Wade believes that books give kids big imaginations that lead to big dreams and success in life. “I was a big dreamer. Today, my life is so busy. … Reading is my time. I can become someone else. And the most fun I have is reading with my kids,” says the Miami ‘Heat’ player.
