According to reports, Mercer County New Jersey Police are investigating “endangering the welfare of a child matter” after finding two children ages ages 5 and 10 allegedly living inside a a narrow storage unit at the “Extra Storage” building located on the 1400 block of Prospect Street in Ewing Township, New Jersey.
Reports say, the 27 year old mother was arrested in Trenton (another part of town) for slashing her boyfriends tires. During her interview Officer Robert Arnwine asked Johnson routine questions about any dependents. “Whenever you place someone under arrest, you got to worry about children or elderly adults,” Kieffer said.Arnwine the woman revealed information about the her children and the storage unit.
That information disclosed encouraged authorities to investigate further, it seemed likely that the woman was living in the unit with the two children, but had left them inside the unit this morning when she went to Trenton, Kieffer said. With that in mind authorities went to the location “They open it up,” he said of the officers who went to the unit. “That’s where their house is – that’s where they’re living.” “It was just filthy in there,” said the officer, Ewing code enforcement and health officials were also on the scene…
We don’t know all the circumstances, however this appears to be a sad story, especially for the kids, prayerfully everything works out for them.
