Congratulations to the Philadelphia 76ers for winning their first game of the 2015/16 NBA Basketball season and ending their 19 game loosing streak to the Los Angeles Lakers in front of the first sellout crowd of the year.
The night was special at the Wells Fargo Center for a number of reasons, in addition to the sellout crowd and the win over the Lakers, Moses Malone was honored, and Philadelphians we’re able to witness Bryant play his final NBA game in the city.
Just a few days ago Kobe Bryant announced his retirement at the end of this season, ironically the next game on the roster was in Philly. After two decades of a love hate relationship with basketball fans in the city, The building overwhelmingly embraced Kobe, his Lower Merion Coach and Julius (DR. J) Irving and a multitude of others were present for this extremely memorable moment for Philadelphia basketball fans. Congrats again Sixers!!
