Congratulations are in order for legendary Hip hop group Run D.M.C. and The Late Jam Master Jay!!!The president of the Academy announced on Wednesday that Run D.M.C will be receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award!!!! This award is given to musicians “who have made contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.”
Run D.M.C. consist of Joseph “Run” Simmons, Darryl “D.M.C.” McDaniels, and the late Jason “Jam Master Jay” Mizell. Surprisingly, the group has never received a Grammy. They were nominated once. Raising Hell was nominated for Best R&B Vocal Performance because there was not a hip-hop category at the time. Need I say more, #HipHopLivesOn R.I.P.
