Legendary hip hop mogul Jay-Z has sold his Tidal streaming service to Square, which is a company co-founded by the CEO of Twitter Jack Dorsey for $297 million.. According to reports, Mr Carter claims the deal is “a game-changer” and.. that he and Jack have a “shared vision” for Tidal. And according to Dorsey…”...Square bought Tidal to find “new ways for artists to support their work”. Square and TIDAL will continue to empower artists and create a more sustainable, collaborative, and beneficial music industry.
Some have mixed feelings about the deal. Its been celebrated as a monumental moment for the Hip hop community. in some case. Others feel the move serves as angel for the music industry to take back control from the independent artist syndrome which currently the vibes circulating throughout the culture.
