

After treating Ebola patients in Sierra Leone, nurse Kaci Hickox returned to the U.S. last week and was immediately quarantined in New Jersey. She was tested twice and both times results were negative for the Ebola virus, therefore she was released and allowed to return to her hometown of Portland Maine. where health officials suggested that she remain in quarantine since according to Maine CDC Director Dr. Sheila Pinette, Hickox “may have been tested too early” in New Jersey, and that there was a chance that early tests would produce a false negative… and the only way to be sure that the nurse was free of the virus was to wait the full 21 days….”, however Hickox denied the request and went for a bike ride yesterday.
